Robert Servat is a contemporary fine artist who works in a Neo-expressionist style. Interested in making art from an early age, he has been focused on painting for the past decade. Robert’s signature style is a rough combination of abstraction and figuration aimed at producing an emotional impact on the viewer.

This style represents his artistic vision of authenticity, raw expression, and an exploration of cultural themes.  His process relies on the necessity of personal insights and experiences.  Each painting can be described as a subjective interpretation of our social reality. 

The work deals with the psychological states we experience in response to a chaotic world.  Faces are often found in his paintings as a direct indicator of emotion.  Shapes, words, and personal symbols are used to convey an inner world struggling to break free.  The viewer can sense a deep search of the unconscious to bring hidden ideas to the surface.

A unique visual language emerges in the final work.  This is formed through spontaneous inspiration in the form of gestural brushwork, mark making, and contrasting colors as part of an improvised and experimental process. These elements are used to create an impression of tension that is somehow able to find an overall balance.
