I’ve often thought that the process of creating anything, from fiction to art, is based on a personal process that cannot be replicated by anyone else. Part of creativity is responding to what occurs to you should come next. This is a very spontaneous and personal experience.
There is no set of steps that guarantees a creative outcome, let alone a good one. It really is a process of the individual interacting with their own emotions, environment, and experiences. The process of creation can only be personal to the unique circumstances that make us the person we are.
When we are not feeling particularly creative it may be that we are not really in touch with what it is that makes us unique. The lack of inspiration is a lack of the right stimulation to allow ourselves to make connections with our own memories and preferences.
The process of art is deeply personal for me because it can be no other way. To be creative is to be someone who is fully aware of your own ability to connect. Creating art takes place in a state in which an individual is authentically being themselves.
